Faith: Ozil says Wenger can help his game move forwards
Injured Arsenal star Mesut Ozil says Gunners boss Arsene Wenger can help make him a better footballer - and that he and the Frenchman trust one another
completely.
Ozil, the north London club's £42.5million record signing, is currently recovering from a knee injury that will keep him out of action until 2015.
Since his arrival in the Premier League however, the German international has been bombarded with criticism over perceived poor performances, with questions asked as to whether the World Cup winner has the necessary physical and mental strength to cope with the English game.
But Ozil had no doubts that he is at the right club, and is playing under the right manager, to take his game forward.
"He [Wenger] knows what he wants and I know he can bring me a step forward; he trusts me in that way and I trust him, completely," explained Ozil, speaking to Esquire magazine.
"For a team, it [a trophy] is the biggest thing to get and we got it [last season with the FA Cup], but as a player, there are other things - being the best player in the world, other cups, the Champions League.
"For now, I am not making any plans for after my career. I am just really happy to be here."

Ozil, 26, shone during three years at Real Madrid, during which time no player in Europe's top leagues registered more assists (81 in 159 appearances), while no player has created more chances, according to Opta, since 2009.

And despite the aforementioned perceptions, Ozil has still managed 16 assists and eight goals in 49 outings for the Gunners.
Nevertheless, he says he will not allow the constant debate over his consistency to alter his focus.
"I have been in this business so long now, I have been a professional since I was 16, 17," added the 62-cap German.
"I don't care what the press thinks about me as football changes from day to day.
"You can play well one day and badly the next. I'm used to it."
