England captain Wayne Rooney celebrated winning his 100th cap tonight – and tipped young son Klay to follow in his footsteps.

The Manchester United star took his boys Kai, five, and 18-month-old Klay onto the Wembley pitch ahead of the Three Lions’ Euro 2016 qualifier against Slovenia.
Rooney, who led Roy Hodgson’s men to a 3-1 victory after scoring the equaliser from the penalty spot, earlier told the Sunday People how Klay was a natural with the ball at his little feet.
“My youngest lad, since the first day he could walk, he’s been wanting a ball. He kicks a ball around everywhere he goes,” said the striker, 29.
“I’ll be honest, I always thought you have to work at it but obviously I’ve now seen my youngest lad and from the minute he was born he wanted the ball.

“It’s incredible to watch him. He’s just over one and a half and without any teaching his technique was unbelievable.
“Then I started thinking, ‘You must be born with something’. Then it’s obviously how you use it, how you work on it when you get older.
“Before that I would have said it was something you work on and pick up and learn.”
Rooney admitted he was “exactly the same” as a child, adding: “My parents have told me that’s all I wanted to do and so he must take after me in that way.”

In the genes: Will Klay Rooney one day be wearing his own ENgland shirt?
The ex-Everton forward, who became England’s youngest player when he made his debut against Australia in February 2003 aged just 17, told how his two sons are “different characters”, with Kai not as keen on the Beautiful Game as his little brother.
“My eldest lad goes to football lessons. At the minute he’s not too interested in it.
"It’s not something I’d push them into especially at the age they are,” said Rooney, who became the ninth England player to earn a century of caps.
“My eldest lad is into different things, other activities, whereas all my youngest lad wants to do is kick a ball. Hopefully that continues.”

Rooney told how he loves the “special moments” having a kick around with his boys on the lawn at their home in Prestbury, Cheshire.
“We enjoy our time there. I play with kids. That’s where I can be myself, be me as a human being and a father rather than me as a footballer, ” he said.
“I take them out into the garden most days and have a kick about with the two of them, and my youngest lad wants to stay there longer.
“The youngest lad’s obsessed. It’s brilliant to be able to do that with the two of them.”
